And so it began...
And so our Journey to Tamara began in July 2005. She was just 6 months old then... too young by most countries standards to be released for international adoption.
They say.. they are those people who seem to know everything about anything. They say that when "your" child is ready you will find them.
When people asked me over the last 2-1/2 + years "How it was going?" and "What is it like?" I would tell them. It's like a huge where's Waldo puzzle. You spin the globe and think "where are you?". You suddenly become an expert in geography, world politics, you start to recognize different ethnic groups by their look. You find yourself examining children and adults at the mall looking for signs of FAS, ADD and ADHD. Yes if your mother drank while she was carrying you I can tell now. Seriously it's hard to tell usually ... so your secret is safe. ;o)
You start watching Super Nanny, reading countless books and offer your services for baby sitting. You start to nest. You join adoption groups online and make lots of friends. You interview countless agencies, explore dozens of options and check many more references. And in the end the best source for information turned out to be that little voice inside of me. Somewhere between my gut and brain I found guidance. I think it was my heart.
This Blog will tell our story. The story of how Bruce and I embarked on a journey over 2-1/2 years ago. It will educate & entertain. It will make you laugh and cry. This blog will not be made public. It is for our friends and family so they can share in our joys, tears, fears and Journey To Tamara.

It has been bought to my attention that for many of you this may be your first exposure to a blog and may not be familiar with how they work. With that in mind I thought it might be a good idea to go over a few things about how they work.
First off you can not hurt the blog from your end... well perhaps if you're a professional hacker (this is not a challenge in case you are one ;o) ) you might have the knowledge but for the average person it is near impossible. So relax... it doesn't bite.
Last post is listed first .. on top.
Comments are welcome... really I'd like to hear from you.
At the bottom of each page you will see older posts ... click on it to go back in time. There are pages and pages of posts.
The video bar at the bottom of the page is a link to You Tube Georgian Videos. If you place your mouse over the picture it should tell you what they are. If they are not of Georgia hit refesh and they should appear.
Videos of Tamara and our trip when we travel are buried in the posts. When you see one click on play. They will come to life. Enjoy! ;o)
Music ... you can mute the music when watching videos or if you need some quiet. You can change songs by simply clicking on a different song from my playlist. These songs were carefully selected for their lyrics. Please listen to them at least once.
This blog is private.. although at the moment not password protected. You are welcome to pass it along to a mutual friend but I would appreciate knowing who's out there. If there is ever a time that for security reasons I feel uncomfortable we will beef up security and it will require a password. I am hoping it doesn't come to that as it will require an extra step for visitors and prior approval from us. Please respect our wishes and let us know if you've passed this on to someone.
